During the 85th Academy Awards last night, it seemed that all the rage on the red carpet was “neutral.” We saw lots of beige, creme and silver. We were happy to see however, that a few stunning (and brave) actresses sported their true colors along with some Omi Privé fine jewelry!
Best known for her roll as “Scarlett” on “Mad Men,” Sadie Alexandru accompanied her sparkling dress and smile with an Omi Privé sapphire and diamond ring, bracelet and earrings. Sadie wears Omi Privé’s sapphire and diamond bracelet featuring 10.64 carats of round sapphires accented by 7.47 carats of brilliant round diamonds. Additionally, this Omi Privé sapphire ring stunner features a 7.51 carat oval center surrounded by 1.19 carats of sparkling round diamonds.
A few other actresses were spotted wearing color and brightening up the 2013 Oscars:
Always stunning, Jennifer Garner chose a fabulous Gucci gown reminiscent of Pantone’s Fall color, Acai. An alexandrite ring would be the perfect compliment to a dress like Jennifer’s, as it would highlight the natural purple hues in the nighttime and onstage lighting.
Red hot on the red carpet, Jennifer Aniston could “Samba” all night rocking this hot Pantone color! Of course, rubies are the classic choice to pair with the red of Jennifer Aniston’s dress. We think this ruby and diamond bracelet featuring 13 deep red round rubies would be the perfect compliment!
Reese Witherspoon should have wowed the crowd with a stunning sapphire cocktail ring. That would have definitely popped on the red carpet with her electric blue gown!
Correspondant for the Today show, Maria Menounos, glows in pinks similar to Pantone Fall 2013 color “Vivacious.” Pink sapphire, spinel or pink tourmaline all provide vibrant pink hues.
Keep up with red carpet styles by showing your color! View all of the Fall Pantone colors here, and when you’re looking for those colors to compliment an ensemble, view the Omi Privé collection on our website.

“On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me… five golden rings!”
Well, it may not always be anticipated to give five gold rings, but it is widely known that jewelry is one of the best gifts to give – and receive – for the holidays. For some, purchasing jewelry may seem a bit daunting. There is a certainty that many need before committing to an item so costly, and as personal, as jewelry. It can especially seem stressful when choosing a gift for a significant other, aiming to get a piece he/she will love and enjoy without any reservation, while making the best investment possible!
It is also widely known and understood that the holiday season often brings a level of financial stress to surface in general. For many, holiday shopping, while thrilling and fun, definitely puts an unwanted dent in the checkbook. Consumers are marketed to by most brands that feature their products in “gift guides,” insisting that they offer gift items to fit any budget.
It is no secret that jewelry is costly. Therefore, I am taking a different approach this holiday season. The great emphasis on the monetary costs of gift-giving rather takes away from the true intent of it – to give the recipient something meaningful that shows thought and care. Instead of focusing intensely on monetary costs, shift the focus of the holiday purchase to the personality of the recipient, and what style she most often caters to.
I have compiled some favorite Omi Privé pieces into a handy chart to assist purchasers with their selections, dividing jewelry tastes into four style categories.
For the individualist – seek pieces that feature more rare and unique stones set in distinctive designs. Alexandrite, a natural color-changing stone, is always a conversation starter! Green tsavorite, orange spessartite, and red spinel pop and stand out on any skin tone.
For the show-stopper, seek out one-of-a-kind designs that are not as commonly seen or available in the market. Obviously, many feel that the larger the item, the better, in this case. Most will agree that a knock-out piece does not always necessarily have to be enormous in size to catch the eye. Distinctive designs can often attract equivalent attention.
Please feel free to peruse these pieces, and use my easy-to-read guide of how to give (and receive) Omi Privé color this season!
Engagement 101’s second annual Bridal Jewelry Awards began with hundreds of submissions from distinguished jewelry designers from around the world, including Omi Privé. After a rigorous nomination process that whittled the submissions to just 48, the selections were then divided into eight categories of popular ring trends, including “Best Woman’s Wedding Band”.
Omi Privé was delighted to be selected and presented among five other prestigious designers in the category. Through the month of November, thousands of men and women visited YourEngagement101.com to cast their vote for their favorite “ring of the year”. We are highly honored to have our Sapphire and Diamond eternity wedding band voted the “Women’s Wedding Band” of the year for 2012! Thank you everyone for your votes!

One of the most important things I took from my education was something a female professor once said in a business course. While discussing females in the financial workplace, she recommended, “We have to dress for the job we want, not necessarily the job we have.” Well, I know it was a side topic for the class at the time, but that phrase stuck with me, and as I developed my career (out of finance and into jewelry, no less) I learned to not only apply that lesson to work, but to life.
I believe that what we wear affects how we feel. From a new pair of running shoes to a pair of Sapphire and Diamond earrings, I believe every piece one puts on adds value to your day. Dress for the day you want to have. Even if the schedule only includes laundry and a trip to the market, nobody can dispute that wearing a fabulous cocktail ring while folding clothes or picking out produce cannot make it more exciting! Jewelry may be an accessory, but it is one that evokes emotion. The relevance it can hold in our day-to-day life is as prominent and as meaningful as its tangible value.
Working with jewelry every day definitely has its pros. Who can complain about waking up every morning and working a 9-6 job, while being surrounded by spectacular rare colored gemstones, presented in fine gold and platinum settings? However, when I leave the workplace at the end of each day, I am quickly reminded of the “real world,” and of the value and extremities of the pieces I work with.
Here, I am wearing my first piece of Omi Privé, a 20.02 carat unheated natural pink sapphire and diamond ring! Design details under the head and on the sides of a ring only add to its alluring beauty.
I understand that to some, jewelry is a novelty. It is something of beauty to be cherished, worn and enjoyed. To others, it is an Investment. But to all, it is a luxury. I am so thrilled to have the pleasure to manage Omi Privé, one of the most spectacular collections of fine and rare gemstones set in specially designed and handcrafted pieces of jewelry. As the new Manager, I am especially excited to guide the collection as it expands and grows to reach both loyal and new customers. It is my hope that by sharing my behind-the-scenes experiences, the beautiful colors of this collection can inspire your days as they do mine. Every piece in Omi Privé tells a story. I look forward to sharing my reactions and “loves” with each of you, and hopefully add color to your days, too!
