Black Opal, Sapphire & Tsavorite Earrings and Ring

At the center of this pair of earrings and ring are black Australian opals displaying bold blue and green play-of-color patterns. To draw the eye to the colors within the opals, they are accented with halos of bright tsavorite garnets. Such striking color combinations are a hallmark of Omi Privé’s designs, particularly when designing around opals.

Black Opal, Tsavorite, Sapphire & Diamond Ring

The striking 13.46 carat Australian black opal is the focal point of this color forward ring design. The swirling brush stroking play-of-color pattern boasts of bold greens and blues and is artfully set with a halo of tsavorite garnets while multiple rows of Royal blue sapphires are set into the gallery and shank; all to complement the opal. Subtle yet masterful details abound in this ring design, from the white diamonds set down the sides of the shank to the single buff top sapphire set beneath the opal and known only to the wearer or the use of black rhodium to add emphasis to the colors within, this ring is a testament to Omi Privé’s attention to detail and celebration of color.

Rainbow Moonstone, Apatite & Diamond Ring

Omi Privé seeks to design with extremely fine examples of unusual and rare gemstones, and this particular ring is no exception. The center is a mystifying rainbow moonstone, or spectrolite, which is a form of labradorite moonstone. The cushion center displays a billowing ‘sheen’ in a myriad of colors. To compliment the tones of the adularescence in the moonstone, it was paired with trillion cut apatites, known for their dazzling blue color. Both stones are not often set in traditionally fine jewelry; yet the exquisite examples of both are elevated by a fine 18k rose gold mounting surrounded by bright white diamonds.

Moonstone, Sapphire & Diamond Pendant and Earring Suite

Moonstones display a remarkable phenomena: adularescence. It is sometimes is referred to as ‘schiller’ and appears as a billowing luster or glow that seems to originate beneath the surface of the stone. In this suite of earrings and pendant, the vivid blue adularescence is complimented by halos of Royal blue sapphires. The effect is ethereal; as the blue sheen dances across the surface of the transparent moonstones, the blue sapphires accented with black rhodium add a spectral element reminiscent of a night sky.

Black Opal, Sapphire, Yellow Sapphire, Tsavorite, Spinel & Diamond Ring

With its pinfire pattern displaying a rainbow of colors, the triple row halo around the center opal was constructed to mimic this effect. The sprinkle of color in the halo, containing sapphires, spinels and tsavorites, fades into the third row of diamonds. Coupled with this halo, bold claw like prongs rise from the shank to anchor the opal as the center of this singular design.
