Southern California-based jeweler Niveet Nagpal of Omi Privé receives award
for creativity, artistry, style and excellence in jewelry design
Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, has awarded Niveet Nagpal of Omi Privé, a first-place award in the 2021 CASE Awards, the association’s annual jewelry design competition. Nagpal won the CASE Award in the Engagement Rings $5,001 and Up (retail value) category.
Nagpal competed among nearly 200 jewelers in the competition. The CASE Awards recognizes the creativity, artistry, style and excellence in jewelry design from top jewelers across the nation. All entries were evaluated by a panel of expert judges to determine a winner in each category. “Jewelers of America is delighted to honor Niveet Nagpal with a CASE Award. His design showcases exceptional craftsmanship, talent and creativity,” says JA spokesperson, Amanda Gizzi.
Nagpal won the CASE Award in the Engagement Rings $5,001 and Up (retail value) category for a platinum ring featuring an 8.86 carat oval blue moonstone accented by pear-shape Paraíba-Type tourmalines (1.10 ctw), round Paraíba tourmalines (0.34 ctw) and round diamonds (0.96 ctw).
“My inspiration for this unique ring came from the rare oval moonstone featured at the center. I was mesmerized by the blue sheen and flashes of turquoise displayed in this particular moonstone. Turquoise hues are not seen in many moonstones and I immediately knew it had to be paired with Paraíba-type tourmalines and diamonds to compliment the colorful flashes,” states Nagpal.
Nagpal also added, “This is our first CASE Award from the Jewelers of America and we are honored to be recognized by the esteemed judges for our artistry and craftsmanship in such a large national competition. To see Omi Privé among other talented designers continues to fuel our passion for color and the finest craftsmanship. Congratulations to all of the winners!”
